Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons of High Point was formed when Dr. Stephen Mills, formerly of Mills and Tucker Cardiothoracic Surgeons, PA, joined with surgeons from CVTS of Greensboro, PA, after the retirement of Dr. William Tucker in December, 2003. Drs. Mills and Tucker ran the cardiac surgery program at High Point Regional Medical Center since its inception in 1992, and for more than 10 years prior to that they served the people of High Point through referrals to their practice in Winston-Salem. All together, the current members of CVTS bring the people of High Point and surrounding communities an unprecedented volume and breadth of experience in the field of cardiac surgery. Our surgical staff includes six highly trained specialists in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, and together with our practice in Greensboro we represent the single largest volume practice for cardiac surgery in the Piedmont Triad. Members of CVTS remain the only providers of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery in High Point certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgeons. Our practice comprises one of the largest volume centers for cardiothoracic and peripheral vascular surgery in North Carolina and remains the largest single center for cardiac surgery in the Piedmont Triad.
